Authorisation for our flying sites

    None

We are very proud to have successfully obtained authorisation from the DAC (Direction de l’aviation civile) for our flying sites.

Legalising our flying sites has been a priority for us for some time now.

Under aviation law, a paraglider falls into the PUL (Planeur Ultra Léger) category, i.e. an ultralight non-motorised aircraft.

Under the current legal provisions of Article 7 of the Aviation Act, take-off and landing are only permitted at an aerodrome, helipad or flying site. Our paragliding sites are legally regarded as take-offs outside a flying site. This would require prior authorisation from the DAC.

For a long time, there was a grey area regarding paragliders. The motto was: “Flying is permitted as long as it is tolerated and organised in a practical manner.”

However, this is set to change soon. The DAC will be granted greater authority. The draft of a new Grand Ducal regulation already includes a separate section on PUL platforms (“plateformes PUL”).

Our flying sites are approved by the aviation authority. The approval is renewed annually and has been granted again for this year.

    See you in the sky.
